On Wednesday September 22nd, 2021, we were confronted with a data breach. This may have given third parties access to your (personal) data. We immediately called in a specialized company that did everything possible to limit the consequences of this incident.
Despite our care and diligence to our IT system, our data has been temporarily unavailable, and third parties may have gained access to your (personal) data. This may concern your contact details that we have registered in our system. JVCKENWOOD Europe B.V. has asked a cybersecurity expert company to investigate how the data breach could have occurred. The investigation is still in progress. In addition, we have asked the company to take additional security measures to ensure that our data is extra protected.
JVCKENWOOD Europe B.V. has informed all parties that are involved and made a timely report to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Belgium Data Protection Authority and the Information Commissioners Office in the UK, in order to comply with the legal obligation.
What does this mean to you?
If your data is in the possession of third parties, there is a possibility that you will receive so-called phishing e-mails or other suspicious messages. You may also be asked to change the payment or delivery conditions. In that case, we request that you contact us directly, using the usual contact details, not the contact details stated in the request. In the event of a change, we will never approach you through these channels.
